Devil's in the Detail

The budget for "Syriana" ran to $50 million.

You'd think, with that kind of money to spend, they'd hire someone who could point out to them that the pistol Mr Clooney is being threatened with in the picture above, by the looks of things a goold old Tokarev, is what's classified as single action pistol.

That means that to make it go BANG you have to first cock the hammer back or rack the slide.

So tubby in the blue over there could have kept squeezing that trigger until his grandson was old enough to to take over the kebab shop and el fuckall (as they say in Mexico) would have happened.
