Homo Sapiens d'jour

One of the movies we got from Blockbusters this week was Grizzly Man - a movie/documentary about grizzly bear activists Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard, who were killed in October of 2003 while living amongst grizzlies in Alaska.

It was...different. Sort of a macabre National Geographic. Timmy Treadwell, I have to say, got more or less what he was asking for at the end of the day. I think he lost the plot - somewhere along the way he forgot that he was dealing with wild animals- he anthromorphosized [is that the right word?] them to such an extent that he blurred his reality.. and he didn't come across as that stable to begin with.

He pushed his luck and wound up as the main course. Nasty, but hardly unexpected. I feel a bit short changed in that they didn't really go into the attack- lets face it, thats the interesting bit (altho there is some amazing footage of the furry bastards- the clip above is an excerpt from the movie)- I personally would like to have seen the 'forensics' of it- I find it all rather fascinating.

I'm going to go poke around the net and see what turns up.
